Appwrite is looking for an experienced developer advocate who loves to travel, code, educate developers, build relationships with companies, event organizers, and developers, and who has a passion for Open Source communities. You'll work closely with the developer relations team, which currently consists of 5 people that are located in different parts of the world. Responsibilities
- Communities: Attend, speak at, and sponsor in-person and virtual events at various developer communities
- Advocate: While still representing as a thought leader in different communities, you will still advocate for Appwrite's community internally, and promote Appwrite externally
- Partnerships: Ability to find and create potential partnerships for joint collaboration/integration projects
- Content: Create and deliver engaging content, such as, but not limited to, blog posts, technical content, presentations, live streams, etc.
- Metrics: Help with tracking our developer metrics in Orbit and other various tracking tools etc.
- DevRel: Attend (or speak) at DevRel events to learn the latest trends and best practices for our team
- Mentor: Mentor other Junior Developer Advocates on the team by acting as a leader and setting an example of how to succeed in developer relations
Requirements
- Experience with working with Open-Source communities and projects
- Capabilities in at least two programming languages, such as Node, Vue, PHP, Dart, Swift, Flutter, etc.
- Understanding of REST APIs and opinions of “good” and “bad” implementations
- You love to teach developers how to build cool stuff
- Basic understanding of developer experience and funneling feedback from developers to internal teams
- Demonstrate a track record of speaking at different events from developer communities
- Travel up to 25%
- Ability to work with a diverse company (and team) located globally, working across different timezones
